It seemed a perfectly appropriate time to write a review on this particular place since my 7th anniversary with Suzette is today! (Thank you!) And this was the place where we had our very first date. It wasn’t much, we bought some barbecue from the Larsian, we brought it here and we had an evening date. I anticipated that it would be a bit chilly, and being the nice gentleman that I am, I brought a nice warm jacket for her before I picked her up. Yes, this was part of the move! And thankfully, it seemed to work!

Now, on to the topic, which is Mountain View. This place covers a lot of land and there are so many things that they offer and things that you can do here. Plenty of walking trails, lots of conference rooms for seminars, parties, retreats, weddings, birthdays. There is a rope walking course here which is pretty large. There is a swimming pool, videoke rooms, open areas, a restaurant and they have plenty of viewing decks to see the growing and prospering city. The view, seven years ago looks a lot different from what it looks like today. And personally, i love urbanized cities. Although Mountain View is quite a distance from the city and so the view that you have of the city is very expansive, there is a wide range that you can see. This view however, can't be compared to say being on Victoria's Peak in Hong Kong where the view of the city and the building is pretty close and in your face. There is quite a distance from the view and the city on Mountain View and so it might give the impression that it is under-urbanized or small. Despite that, in the evening it creates a pretty serene and romantic atmosphere. When the lights are on and it looks warm, it makes you realize that it is a pretty nice place to live in.

The main attraction is the viewing deck all the way on top of the mountain. You may hang out here, have some dinner, eat some snacks, grab a drink and enjoy the view. If you walk further down the path in the last picture, you will end up at the rope walking course. This course is pretty large and honestly seemed like a lot of fun!

The course costs P150 per person, i imagine that while doing this course, you would have a pretty high up view of the city, might create a sense of floating or flying. Should be a lot of fun! And for that price, it seems very much worth it, go ahead and try it out! In this season, there arn't a lot of people in the Nature Park, so it was pretty quiet. You could have this whole place to yourself and the same goes for the swimming pool. Times are quiet, don't have a swimming pool where you are? Come over to Mountain View and enjoy the swimming pool all to yourself!

Doesn't look bad right? When we were here taking pictures, it was 2pm in the afternoon and there was only one small family here. Summer time will obviously be different, potentially a bit more chaotic. But now, you could easily have the whole place to yourself. The pathway from the entrance of the swimming pool to the pool itself has some exotic animals that they are showcasing, you might find some exotic birds, a monkey and even a snake. Don't touch though...

The rates for the swimming pool are as follows:

If your height is 3ft. or more - P100

If your height is 3ft. or less - P75

That's a pretty good bargain!

How to get here?

There are several ways. First and easiest would be to bring a car or a motorcycle. Second is to get a taxi and let him wait. Third, you can get transportation from JY Mall in Lahug, essentially the starting point of going up in the mountain. For 10 people or less it's P400 and this is one way.

To sum up all the potential costs:

Entrance Fee to Mountain View: P50 per person

Swimming Pool:

Height > 3ft: P100

Height < 3ft: P75

Rope Course: P150
