Casa Verde, one of the first places i've ever went. The original location is always, in my opinion, the best. In the years that i have been here, Casa Verde has gone out and expanded to a number of branches in the Cebu City area. There is one in I.T. Park and there is one in Ayala. But if i was going to eat at Casa Verde, i would want to go to the original one, because as you can see from the picture, the "Green House" is actually really there. But beyond that, this location holds a special place in my heart. For some reason, this was the restaurant i used to bring my dates to for the first time, and after a while, the staff would kind of look over and i don't know what they would be thinking but it might've been in the avenue of: "here is another one". The last person that i brought here for my first date was seven years ago, and she will probably also be the last person i bring here.

This location is also a lot bigger, there is more scenery, there is more nature, they have tables for two, tables for four, both inside and outside and even in private rooms.

When it comes to the food, it's not too bad. The restaurant serves a classic fair of American style dishes that range from burgers, steaks, shakes and a lot more.

In some of their dishes they try to incorporate some nice fine dining style type of plating, i wouldn't say it's bad. I just think that this is not the right place for it. For example, there is a tenderloin dish where they place the steak on top of the mashed potatoes and have some fried onions on top of the steak. It's nice but again, that belongs at Carnivore. Not here. What i expect here, is American. And that means, big portions. And yes, they definitely got that right.

If you are going to Casa Verde, you will have to take the infamous Brian's Baby Back Ribs. Pork ribs that have been baked in a sweet, tangy sauce to a point so good, that the meat falls off the bone. If you get a good slab of ribs, they are really really good and they will satifsy you. The meat will be soft, tender, sweet, it melts in your mouth. It can be really good. But sometimes, and i have had it sometimes, that i didn't get a very good piece. You might get a piece that has a bunch of fat on it that just tastes quite awkward when you chew it. So it might be a wise idea, to ask for a piece that doesn't have a lot of fat on the slab. Below here, is a picture of the giant baby back ribs. They are served with a little insignificant side of cooked vegetables, mostly carrots and corn. And the ribs are served with a side of rice as well.

Picture on the left is a grilled fish fillet entitled Tricia A La Pobre. It was done nicely, the meat was soft, still juicy and it has a nice sweet jus that came with it as well, it tasted a bit barbequey. They did a lot better on the vegetables as well.

The dish below is a Lauren's Lava. It is supposed to be a lava cake, unfortunately it was not. Creating a lava cake takes timing, making the batter is easy. Taking it out of the oven at the right time is hard. There are many factors included in making it right and i have messed up lava cakes plenty of times. See, when you put the chocolate batter in the ramekins and into the oven, it will cook from the outer side to the middle. And so, if you take it out the early, you have too much lava and little cake, if you take it out too late, you have no lava and you essentially made some sort of brownie. I have witnessed both in trying to attempt this high class dessert.

When i had the dish at Casa Verde, it was unfortunately not oozing with "chocolate lava" you will know when it has been done properly is if you slice it in the middle and open it, the chocolate flows out. Like lava, hence the name.

My favorite desserts was Michael's Obsession but apparently they took it off the menu, too bad. That's what i ordered on the first dates to share!

Casa Verde takes some of their dishes to ridiculous but very fun limits, one of these dishes is the Big Bang Burger which is a 9 inch burger, and the Milky Way, which is a chocolate milkshake in a ridiculous size with i don't know how many scoops of ice cream. Both these dishes are best for sharing! And also, it won't do a lot of good on the love handle department. That thing will knock you out. You are probably able to research on it, but i didn't want to include pictures. It would be a lot more fun and priceless if i could see your face when it is being served to you. Oh man, i wish i could be there to see that.

Going to this place is a lot of fun, it is very popular as well and it's always busy. it's a great place, especially the original branch. Forget the ones at Ayala and I.T Park, they are too commercialized for me. They don't give me the vibe that the original location gives me, maybe because i have special memories, it could just be me.

So where is this place located? Where can i get a slab of Brian's Baby Back Ribs? Seek and you shall find, my friend, scroll down below!
